Best speakers ever for the price

I have had these speakers for about 7 years now got them when I was 12, and they were my first speaker system, upgraded and let my sister take this system to college for her senior year, now im in college myself and one of the ports on the base does not work for one of the speakers, now i want to buy another one because of how great the sound quality was, Highly recommend, I still use it even with just the base and one speaker.

Great investment

I got these about five years ago now. They sound great, especially at the price point, and I never had any problems with them at all. I just gave them to a friend since I wasn't using them anymore in my new setup. Getting something that has lasted this long and performs so well at this price point is ridiculous. One of the best purchases I have ever made.

Very Worthwhile Purchase

I've had these in the black finish for at least two years. I do remember a few oddities early on. A few times I heard a thud when my computer shutdown. And then there was an audible buzz or hum a couple of times. Both disappeared never to return. The only modification I made was to use extension cables for the treble/mid range satellites to sit them up high. But really, the sound is quite rich, full and louder than I'd ever want even with the bass volume setting barely past 50%. I like these so much that I'm entertaining the possibility or connecting a small DAC between the computer and Swans. And,yeah, I'd recommend the HIVI 10 to anyone. Right after I started using the M10, I also purchased the bigger brother, the M50, in another drop for one of my televisions. Can't say much about it because, believe it not, it's still in the original shipping carton.

This was my second purchase of the same item. The first set I would give 5 stars, but this second set sits unused in my office at the moment. It unfortunately picks up audio interference once it's turned on; there's constant static and it occasionally picks up a radio station I can't identify. I'm not sure what is the difference between the two sets, which is unfortunate as I was impressed by the quality of the first.

Thanks for the suggestion but that’s unfortunately not the case. It was not hooked up to a computer at all.

xylianDid you ever try swapping the RCA cable? I had that issue with the stock cable... Swapped to a higher quality cable and haven't had issues.

For the price, looks and performance of these speakers, I think 5.5 stars would be more appropriate. I've heard of some people having issues with them from what sounded like possible quality control. However, mine have operated flawlessly. They sound rich and detailed, and they look fantastic on my desk. The only drawback is the center woofer is very long, so it's not great for a tiny desk. Make sure you measure.
