As I've said on previous drops of this product, if you live somewhere where radio interference MIGHT BE EVEN A CONSIDERATION you should NOT buy this product. I have these and can't even use them because they pick up the BBC from a radio tower that is almost two miles away. I've tried shielding via ferrite and still no luck. The speakers are incorrectly (or at least inadequately) shielded, and this set is a waste of your money if you are in that situation.
Can you elaborate on the radio interference? Like how am I supposed to find out that radio interference might be a consideration? I can listen to the radio on the car... but then can't you also do that across the whole nation? Explain like I'm five, please.
I kinda have to wonder if deskjockey is trolling. I can walk outside and within 3 minutes touch the side of a building that has a radio tower sticking out of it. I have never experienced the issue deskjockey is describing.
I've seen this problem also described in one of the amazon reviews for this product. I understand that not many people write reviews, and mostly people with frustration write them. I'm just hoping that when I get my speakers that it won't have this problem.
I think I am looking at the review you are talking about now; its on newegg. I'm assuming that this is a manufacture defect, not a design issue (like that other person was saying). As you mentioned, the number of negative reviews is insignificant, this isn't representative of the product. Reviews are basically a voluntary survey, majority of people will only fill out this "survey" when they feel they are being mistreated or victimized. So basically, their an egocentric a-hole that doesn't understand mass-production and they just got unlucky.
Its incredibly difficult to find a "overall" star rating of less than 4. These speakers seem to loose points on the lack of low end bass. I'm really excited, I've watched one of the distro's unboxing video on it a couple times now.
So for Canadians, I checked my cc the other day, its in the mid $160 (varies depending on Province of course) . Which is still an incredible deal given that our dollar has fallen almost 30% in the past two years. The MSRP was like what $154? So think of it like you got free shipping.
I'm not sure how I can explain it more, the left and right speakers pick up a radio station, this is the only pair of speakers I've owned at this place that do this, so I wanted to bring it up. The chances of it happening are probably minimal, but it's still a problem people should be aware of.
I'm glad you don't experience the issue I do, they are great speakers and if not for this issue I'd still be using them. What would be the purpose of trolling people about this? I tried the suggestion by the rep from the company, and it didn't fix it, so I wanted to make sure people were aware of the problem. It doesn't happen on any of my other speakers and it's important that you can sit in silence at your desk without hearing the radio on them. It's an issue, and one that is extremely important.
