Designed to stand up to the demands of everyday use—and look good doing it—Tactile Turn’s Gist pens feature some of the most hard-wearing materials around. And thanks to a few updates, they’re better than ever before Read More
Like all of the Tactile Turn pieces I own, this pen has ridiculous tolerances and finish. I opted for the titanium body, and it has become one of my regular pens. The lateral groves provide an amazing grip for control. They have also held up well considering I use this pen often and it is not showing much wear, which is a surprise given titanium’s tendency to scratch. I find the balance of the pen perfect unposted, while posted it is a bit too too heavy for my liking. Out of the box, the job did need a few tweaks and has been fairly consistent.
No real cons for me, although for those who like to post their pen caps, this might not be the pen for you.
I went for the copper, by far the heaviest model, at 82 grams posted/capped, and I don't typically love heavy pens (I have several brass pens and wanted a raw copper because I work as a paramedic and like that copper containing compounds are inherently antimicrobial) but this thing is amazing. It posts pretty well for an all metal pen, the size is nice, it's well balanced unposted, the nib is perfectly tuned, it came with a converter (but no cartridge, so unless you have cartridges or bottled ink it isn't ready to write "out of the box" so make sure you order some ink, it takes standard international cartridges and any bottled ink with the converter) and the "feel" (the trademark thing that named the brand) of the little knurling is AMAZING, it's so fun to play with in the hand.
My one singular gripe is that the clip is way too stiff. I hope it breaks in, because it's solid AF, but it's almost comically stiff.
This was a great drop, getting the pen for $100 when MSRP from TT is 140 was a great deal.

The pen terribly leaks.
I was not able to fix it so I cannot use the pen
idokatzI have two of them and have zero issues. I also put a thin coat of silicon grease on all threads as a prevention. Have you emailed tactile turn about it? They are great people.
idokatzWhat leaks? did you make sure the converter was pushed all the way in?
I honestly doubt there's anything wrong with the pen. A short review like this tells me that there's just some user error.
My first experience with Tactile Turn pens. I got the black delrin with black clip, broad nib. Love it so much! I will buy a titanium one next time these drop.
