I can't decide between the aluminum and the brass. Which would develop a better patina over time? Would one or the other age more unevenly where my fingers touch the pen?

floydfloydAluminum won't really patina at all. Brass will really show character with age. If you want that make sure you just rub your hands all over it when you first get it and the oils from your hands will help make that happen. Usually brass is pretty even. Make sure you are okay with the weight difference, as aluminum pens are ~1.1oz and brass are ~2.3oz. Most people are fine (many love the heft!) with that difference, but some people really don't like a heavy pen. Personally I think all are fine, I just don't write 20 pages of notes in a sitting with a pen anymore.
