Hey guys, there's something that's not quite adding up in terms of the prices. If the group buy gets to the lowest price ($49.99), it would still be cheaper (and you would get the pen(s) sooner) to order directly from Will's website, Tactileturn.com. The site currently has a 25% discount coupon active (ilovepens) on any order. So, taking the $49.99 lowest price as a baseline, ordering an Aluminum Mover\Shaker here would total $52.90, while ordering directly from Tactileturn.com would amount to $51.75 with the coupon, and with immediate shipping. The price difference grows considerably (and favors ordering directly from Will) on the other materials, except titanium.
Again, using the lowest price unlockable as a baseline, ordering a Brass version here would total $67.90, while in Tactileturn.com the total would be $59.25 (almost a 14% difference). Copper: Massdrop total, $82.90; Tactileturn.com total, $74.25 (11% difference). Bronze: Massdrop total, $97.90, Tactileturn.com total, $89.25 (9% difference). Titanium: Massdrop total, $107.90, Tactileturn.com total, $104.25 (3% difference).
Are the prices wrong or am I missing something?
As a sidenote, I own a dark red aluminum Shaker and a Titanium Mover, both ordered directly from Tactileturn.com. I originally ordered a blue Alu Mover and had the same threading issue (the threads wore out after opening and closing the pen four times) reported here by some users. The nock mechanism was also sticking, but Will was quick to respond to both issues. He offered me a discount to upgrade to a Titanium Mover and also sent a new nock mechanism. You don't really get that type of customer service from many companies these days. The pens are awesome, balance is great and, in my case, the Titanium version weighs just a bit more than the aluminum version. Will's a great dude, and if any problems arise, he will take care of you.

JakeRobertsThank you for this! Just ordered the copper version through their site and used the discount!
JakeRobertsoops, I meant to take that down before the drop. This drop has the best price on these pens now.

TactileTurnOuch! I intended to take advantage of the coupon at the weekend and get a few pens. Now that it is taken down, I guess I will give this drop a pass and wait for another sale of the TactileTurn website ... :(

JakeRobertsSo now let them 'take advantage' of this discount here. In a world without that discount code or Massdrop, we are stuck with the MSRP. Let's count our blessings. Btw, let's show respect to Massdrop and not low blow them with lower prices from other places which can somehow affect the outcome of the drop. I know its the internet age and you have every right to spread word. That is if you don't respect the other party. In respecting Massdrop, let's just not blow their business. All MD did was help a lot of us by trying to find good deals. Some deals may not be perfect esp for CONUS customers but they are trying. Somehow, I'd like to thank you for the info you gave but in another way, it was hurting MD. Hope you understand.

StrummWhile I do appreciate what MassDrop is doing and their business model, my post was not outside of what other members have posted on other drops when better deals can be had on other sites. That 25% discount code could be used on the official website of the pen's maker (TactileTurn.com), no less, and, unfortunately for MD, it gave people a much better price than what they would have found here.
I have participated in two drops thus far, and on both I saved quite a bit, but if that's the main point, to find the best deal, the existence of that coupon code meant that people could save anywhere from 3 to 14% by going directly to the maker's official website, with the added benefit of immediate shipping.
I'm sorry if the post offended you, but it really did not hurt MD; there was only one purchase before I wrote that post. Right now it's sitting at four purchases and 11 commitments. Will took down the coupon code (so only one person took advantage of the discount) and now MD users have the best price.
I didn't expect or wanted any thanks, just threw the information out there for people to use. If the post went against MD's terms of use, they would have deleted it but, once again, it's nothing that other members haven't done before (and their posts have not been deleted).
