Totally excited that we'll get our keyboards shipped today, because any other outcome would have been preceded by an announcement as soon as they found they couldn't make it! (fingers crossed that this reasonable expectation is met)
I find it completely unacceptable that Massdrop doesn't inform us, their clients, of what happened or is not happening.
I can be frustrated that the keyboard is not delivered at the promised time, however not having a clue of what's going on, is a complete disregard of their clients and will undermine our trust in Massdrop, trust that is critical, specially in an online business.
I don't say I will not buy anything from Massdrop again, but I will think twice before doing it again.
Very disappointing and completely unacceptable.
ricamzYou guys... Massdrop has not been properly informing their customers FOR YEARS and here we all are, still buying stuff.
They know they don't have to communicate and people will still come to save a few bucks.
Response from support:
" When the new shipping date is accounted, you and everyone else in the drop will receive an email notification on when that will be estimated. "
I honestly don't get it, is this some kind of joke? How have we not got a single update aside from "oh itll ship later". I've been looking forward to this board for Months and it looks like thats not going to change. Really great job massdrop..
kiranosaurasIn my recent emails with support it seems that the vendor hasn't given them an update so massdrop can't give us any new info. I'm not sure why this is but it's what I've gathered.
Quote from a support email about the delays:
"It looks like this bulk order is actually shipping from the vendor together with a couple other drops. This is causing the delay. This an agreement with have with Chinese vendors, and may cause some drops to be late and others to be early."
MattyK34I'm on the fence. I'm saving a decent amount since I ordered Zealios and I'm willing to give Massdrop the benefit of the doubt and assume this is the supplier's fault but I'm not sure I want to wait much longer.
hi Guys i downloaded the manual trying to find out if programming this board is as easy as the input club boards or HASU controllers. in the manual it says go to url; http://123.57.250.164:3000/tada68
what follows is an error because i don't have Flash installed
" To view this page ensure that Adobe Flash Player version 11.1.0 or greater is installed. "
I don't want to install Flash on my system thank you very much , i like a cool running system with a minimum of back-doors viruses and other crap i associate with Flash.
Does anyone know if this board is programmable using a different solution that doesn't involve Bloody Flash ?
i’m on mac most of the time and on Linux the rest no windows for me.
Building your Layout on Text Editor that’s old school..
i’m using a TMK Keymap Editor for my TMK Alt controller for FC660C from Hasu.
i like that it has visual klik layout and that i can download the file and simply flash it on. i believe there is an option to do it with a file and have way way more options.
Just search for “hasu controller fc660c” and follow the GeekHack link it wil point you to what i’m using (for reference or if your curios)
Qmk sounds a bit complexer but doable i think i would need to spend more time but would get there eventually it’s not like setting up a samba server using kerberos hahaha
(even that is not that difficult after practice)
I do like a board that is able to use different firmware / software to program leaves options in case something goes away.. but i decided to wait for the WhiteFox to come to EU and then buy one if it has the Vanilla layout.
only thing missing is that it does not have backlighting and that's something i started to like even if my current two FC660C/M boards do not have it. If it wasn't for the customs fees of 33% and the fact that i have the K-type coming i would go for this one .. finally a good deal from Massdrop..
