this is not a problem on boards like the KBP V80 and V60 - those include inserts for those. so unless you want to use the space bar on an AT101W (which is almost the only one of the keyboards of old has standard-size bottom row), you're good to go.
this is still a lot better than what signature plastics do - no proper holes on any of the stabilised keys..
minivanmegafunProbably because Matias already makes Mac sets in black and white, so the market is limited. I personally would just rather a symbol which is generic so I can use with both without feeling weird.
mzipfAFAIK they only make Mac sets in black, and the printing they use (laser foaming) is really, really bad, it feels miserable and attracts dirt like crazy.
Sure but I imagine a lot of the people who wants alps keycaps want them for actual alps switches, and in turn many of the keyboards those are in have older layouts.
ChinspikeMatias also makes a lot of Macintosh layout boards, which don't quite comply with US-ANSI. A few customization options with some blank keys and differently-sized space bars would be really appreciated.
the tomcat scheme is great, i think i'll put it on a PS/2 board reserved for my retro computers. also, all ALPS fans, this is a 'vote with your wallet' thing that we don't get excluded next time and get better options. just saying. : )
hmm your best bet is probably goinmg to be selling them on mechmarket when you get the set and then see if you can purchase the colorway you want in MX mount2 or you can buy a Matias board as they are the only company that make retail Alps mount boards.
