Think about it, folks. There is no free lunch. The lens manufacture needs to make money, Drop needs to make money, but the lens is being sold about ~$330 below what the lens currently sells for WITH a USA 6-year warranty. Several online shops are selling the "international version" (grey market) lens with no USA warranty for about what this drop is going for. These grey market lenses were intended for the international market, not to be sold here in the USA. It may be the exact same lens, but it was priced lower for the non-North American market so there is very little chance Tamron will honor the warranty. Drop is not an authorized USA Tamron dealer. Drop may offer to help you facilitate a claim, but I doubt they will be able to convince Tamron to do any warranty work on a lens sold outside of their USA authorized dealer network. The ability to register your purchase does not equal Tamron honoring a warranty your international lens wasn't intended to carry. That said, I've owned several grey market lenses. Tamron SP lenses are built fairly well and it's likely you may never need the warranty. So, it's up to you to choose saving the $330ish dollars or pay more for the USA warranty. You will NOT find a USA warrantied lens at this price.

rshveydaWelcome to a USA lens at this price. If we were offering an International Tamron lens it would be stated in the Specs section of the Details page. While Drop is not an authorized Tamron Dealer our vendor is. This is 100% a USA Spec lens.

JaysunHow come you won't type the words "Drop guarantees this lens comes with a 6-year manufactures warranty that Tamron will honor" or "Drop will provide you with a receipt from the Tamron authorized dealer to ensure your warranty is honored" if that is indeed the case? We're not wondering about the specifications of the lens. We're wondering whether or not Tamron intended these lenses to be sold here in the USA or on the international market, and if they will honor the warranty. And helping facilitate a warranty claim doesn't do anything for us if Tarmon rejects it.

rshveydaIf needed, Drop will provide you with a receipt from an Authorized dealer that will enable you to utilize Tamrons 6 year warranty for a Tamron USA Spec lens that you purchase here.

dzairYou should let the vendor register the lens for you. The important part is to contact us if you have an issue that requires the warranty and we will get you the receipt from the authorized vendor. Then you can handle the warranty directly with Tamron USA. Only if it is required will the vendor supply the the receipt. This is done so we can continue to offer these amazing deals without exposing our source openly.

rshveydaDear @rshveyda, you are 100% wrong. The box was not shipped by Tamron. The box had serial # inside and US warranty logo on it. I was so worried about your comment and filled out warranty form on Friday Jun 29th just to prove either you or Massdrop (which has warranty in the description) wrong and it was you who lost this game. Today I received Warranty Confirmation from Tamron. It is $330 cheaper than Amazon and well worth it, even in Amazon price.
