Featuring a portable, tough-as-nails aluminum body no bigger than the size of a flask, the TEAC HA-P50SE DAC/amp delivers remarkably high sound quality and versatile device compatibility for the price. An update to the HA-P50, it features a different opamp, the BurrBrown OPA1602, and slight aesthetic changes, with a lighter silver faceplate on the black colorway and a red line on the volume knob of the red version. The PCM5102 DAC is capable of processing digital audio signals up to 24-bit/96kHz, while the power amp section can drive 600-ohm headphones at full power using the high gain setting. The resulting sound is clear, balanced, and spacious, with excellent vocal and instrument separation and extremely low distortion.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of color: black or red. Quantities are limited in each style.
Along with USB and mini-USB inputs, the TEAC HA-P50SE is equipped with a gain switch and an analog input via a 3.5-millimeter jack. The compact aluminum volume knob has just the right torque for fine volume adjustments, with raised guards on either side to prevent accidental changes while the device is being carried in a pocket or bag. The built-in 2,100-mAh lithium-ion battery provides eight hours of continuous battery life, after which you can recharge with the included USB cable or through a DC in 5V port (AC adapter sold separately).
