I paid full price for this when it first came out, and I really like it, and out of the four Tritium pendants I own, I wear this one every day. I have become a bit of a fan of TEC Accessories cool products and the quality that they put into them.
As far as brightness, I would say that this (and the majority of all other Tritium products) should NOT be considered an "emergency light source," unless maybe you happen to be an owl, which I am not. I would say that the vials are just bright enough to find your keys (or whatever sacred objects you attach it to) in the dark, and especially after your eyes have become acclimated to the darkness, however the colors (some more than others) show a nice glow in a dimly lit room.
I purchased Tritium vials from both mixglo and tritiumkeychains, and went with the shorter tubes with a variety of more colors for this fob. I'm happy with both companies, but I like the selection from Mixglo a little better. Both shipped fairly fast to the US from far off countries (can't remember where).

MescolitoI would agree that choosing the shorter tubes for this FOB is a good choice, if it weren't for the price. Half the length unfortunately does not equal half the price. But, shorter tubes statistically protects from damage to breakage as replacing a short tube is not as expensive as one long one. And they do break if you take the FOBs out on a hard adventurous weekend.
