Looking at getting this because I can think of a bunch of uses for it but how to you retrieve it once you throw it up 25 ft and it gets hooked on something?
GearInfusionThe RETREEV includes both stainless steel and aluminum spikes. If you use the aluminum set, you can pull with enough force to bend the spikes and "retrieve" the RETREEV. Replacement spikes are available on our website for under $2 a set.
I've been grappling with the idea of getting these but the idea is rappelling to me… I'm kind of hooked on it though…and feeling a little roped in by the discussion here, despite Ray's occasional barbs… I suppose I'll have to scale down the number I get with all the other drops I am signed up for this month.
I have one of these. I would caution any purchaser that the hooks are not particularly durable. Mine have all bent after the tool has fallen from a high limb onto hard surfaces such as pavers or concrete. Whilst this can be avoided and there are nails which are of an appropriate size to replace the hooks and fit within the tools body as replacements and are more durable than the originals, it is worth noting that you will probably need to do this if you use the tool frequently.
