Well it's pretty subjective. Depends upon the ferrous material being pulled, the shape, how close to the magnet it is (actually touching or a slight gap due to the mounting configuration in the cap), etc.
I can hang a 5oz steel rod or a Leatherman Juice from the RETREEV cap (static load). Of course once you start swinging it there is the possiblility of it breaking free. Hope that helps.
