What is the difference between this and tritium keychains?

SkyZekChemically totally different. TEC Glow Fobs are made from strontium aluminate. Tritium is the radioactive isotope of Hydrogen or ³H.
Tritium glows by itself regardless of light and lasts for 12.32 years (half-life). The TEC Glow Fobs need light to glow during the night since its a photoluminescent phosphor. Here is more info if you're curious: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strontium_aluminate
Both are very cool in their own right, but the US government doesn't allow the import of ³H into the US for the use of keychains.

andyOf course, if you know where to look you can get trit tubes that fit in TEC's DIY fob kit.
