Can anyone comment please. I have heard that it is illegal now to bring Tritium Vials into the US. Though I am not in the US myself, it does concern anyone in the US thinking of buying the Fob.

TasselhoffYou can order them. They might get caught by customs. But probably not.

this seems like a bit of a sham considering it doesn't come with a tritium vial.

yeah, but they're being blatantly misleading. all of the pictures have a vial in the fob and they don't specifically say it doesn't come with one.

rbcornhole"Note: This drop does not include a tritium vial" is the text in the big blue box right up front after a paragraph description of the product. Pictures of the fob without a vial would be confusing for people who have never seen tritium products before.

The raison d'être for this drop is the -Not Included Tritium Capsule-. So where do I procure one? How much is it? How much is shipping?
As the light is the result of radioactive decay, specifically Beta decay into Helium 3, is there some hokey Federal Hazmst shipping requirement. That $20 price for the holder/fob is attractive, but I don't know the other particulars that could end up costing maybe treble the rate of this case, for all I know.
Are you sure? What color are you looking for? You want the 3mm x 23mm size

This is really neat. I joined this for my first drop on Massdrop. So excite. Guess what, though? Massdrop sent me the wrong item. Great first experience. 10/10, would buy again. Inside my package was the S-311T, which wasn't even an -option- for this drop.

I understand that the tritium casing (glass/plastic) stops the beta radiation, but is no one worried about the soft x-rays hat are constantly emitted from the resulting bremsstrahlung constantly irradiating their body? Or maybe that isn't a safety issue?
I'm assuming that these keychains are usually in your pocket, right next to your crotch...

Cyn1cAccording to Wikipedia, "Tritium is an isotope of hydrogen, which allows it to readily bind to hydroxyl radicals, forming tritiated water (HTO), and to carbon atoms. Since tritium is a low energy beta emitter, it is not dangerous externally (its beta particles are unable to penetrate the skin),[20] but it is a radiation hazard when inhaled, ingested via food or water, or absorbed through the skin. " And they aren't even talking about the plastic shell it's put in.
