Product Description
The Merlin collection by Techné takes styling from classic pilot’s watches and combines it with Seiko’s VD78 quartz movement to produce a modestly priced, everyday timepiece with vintage flair. The matte black dial is adorned with bright white pill-shaped stick markers and equally curvy numerals at the 12, 3, and 9 o’clock positions Read More

I have one of these and enjoy it. The strap is of surprisingly good quality. The onion crown is killer. Size is perfect. Styling is spot on. Quartz isn't as bothersome when on a sub seconds dial. The only negatives are lack of AR on a dbl curved glass leads to lots of reflection and the lume material is weak and appears greenish during the day.

I like the watch design, find it pretty.
Would it be possible that, in the description of watches from small brands like this, a small presentation of the brand is made also? Nothing too long but just where it's based, when it was created, etc? Thanks!

AleskbTechné's creative manager Francis Jacquerye has an unusual background: born in the Greater Congo from a Belgian surgeon and a historian, he grew up between Belgium, Canada and Great Britain before successively working as an industrial designer in Italy, Switzerland and Sweden.
The watches are made in Asia and designed in Europe. I love my Merlin though the lack of anti reflective is intense as its a double curved mineral glass. Also the lume appears slightly greenish during the day.

FiercekryptonFunny I asked and you replied that, as I am a Belgian humanitarian working in Congo since 10 years or so! :) You made me want to buy this watch just for the small story just created! :p Let me rethink this a little... Thanks for the info!

case looks good but the antique script is at odds with the austere military aesthetic that they are seeking, IMO.

" Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of dial color: black, gray, or olive. " lol. As someone pointed out about 43 weeks ago, in this instance,"dials" are those things you wrap around your wrist to keep the watch on.

not to be a snob but unless you love this particular odd retro design it's better to pay a few bucks more for a higher quality time piece.

Always look up the watch on a youtube video, the embellished photographs do make watches look a lot better than they are. It looks quite cheap in real life.
