will everything still work correctly if I don't use the plastic agitator that goes in the pot? I would also like to know this about the stainless steel model that comes with the thermos. I realize same is BBA free but would still prefer not to use it.

Hi @Blazin !
This model would not work without the lid on the carafe because that lid is what engages the release valve on the auto-drip-stop brew-basket.
What I can tell you though is that all of our plastics are BPA/BPS/BPF and phthalate free as well as made in the Netherlands.

Thank you for your help. Would the stainless steel model with the thermos work this way also?

I would love one of your coffee makers but am convinced BPA and the rest of the chemical alphabet soupvare the tip of the iceberg. Please make a 100% plastic-free model and I (and many others) will gladly pay a premium!!
