I would consider looking at the Behmohr Brazen Plus or the Bonavita BV1900. Both of them are cheaper and make a really good cup of Coffee. Both also use an insulated carafe so it does not need a heating element under the pot. Heating the pot from below creates uneven temperatures and the coffee on the bottom gets bitter (not a huge issue if the pot is consumed quickly). I personally own a Behmohr Brazen Plus and I love it. The shape is a bit odd because the boiling chamber is directly above the coffee grounds. The water boils and falls straight down onto the grains. The Moccamaster has to pump it up and over to the grounds. Pumps are a possible failure point with coffee makers. I have heard a lot of good things about the Moccamaster but it's not the only high end coffee maker around.
