I use it as a bathroom speaker for podcasts when I'm showering, and it's no problem there. For parties with loud chatter it'll be a bit too quiet, but for good ol' hangouts with a handful of friends, it's just loud enough to be enjoyable without drowning out conversation-- perfect for the friend who likes blaring their music selection otherwise. Pairing is a bit of a pain, as is all things BT, but I haven't come across a phone that refuses to connect. Android, iOS, Windows... hell, I even got my laptop to connect!
I haven't compared it to anything in it's range, but it outclassed the fifty dollar speaker I tried it against and it's way smaller! Seriously this is a tiny li'l unit.
For those on the fence, I love mine. Even if you later update to a phone with big ol' outputtin' speakers, this is great for around the house and keepin' the phone in the pocket. This one gets a ton of action in the kitchen while I'm cooking.
