The original Tekut ZERO offers serious value in the world of folding knives. This 20th-anniversary, limited-edition version does just the same, but this time it has black aluminum scales for an even sleeker look Read More
Best action on PB washers, hands down. But the inside edges of those scales are crazy sharp. The painted aluminum can get slippery and if your hand slides while you have a firm grip you're getting cut.
VipeX12C27, isn't that the same steel that Opinel uses in their Inox range?
If so, rust shouldn't be a problem unless you seriously mistreat the blade. My Opinels have seen lots of use in all kinds of weather without problems.
erickongIt does of course depend on heat treat and grind, but in terms oft edge retention I would put it right between AUS-8 and VG-10. Apart from that its a straight forward stainless steel, no worries there.
I have no experience with Tekut knives (a brand oft Nextorch), they are made in China, but so are Reate, Kizer, WE and so on. It very much depends in the individual company.
erickongIt's a very popular budget knife, people who have one seem to universally love it.
The steel is plenty good for $25, better than the old usual suspects of stainless, 8Cr and AUS-8. It's the sane steel as stainless Moraknivs.
