Really want a aluminum case for my purepro, but I'm not down with the color

ZAH69Honestly this drop is pointless and stupid. mechanicalkeyboards.com has the same thing for a dollar more, and they have 7 colors in stock to choose from. Plus you're waiting 2 weeks extra with Massdrop. I'm not a fan of silver either, it's black at the least for me but I prefer more aggressive colors like red/blue.

rodgaroonAre you talking about the acrylic version? $110 is a justified price for a quality aluminum case, but I just don't see why this drop exists. You're putting yourself through a hassle when you can get the same thing (possibly better if you aren't a fan of silver) shipped out next day instead at the same price.
But $110 is reasonable...CNC milling isn't cheap, and even low quality cases are expensive (Vortex $150 alu TKL case), though TEX makes very nice 60% cases.
ExpeditedThis is actually a different case than the one they offer on mechanicalkeyboards.com, it has feet included. Here is a picture of the one they sell

AndrewLekashmanDoes it come with any other accessory (other than the feet)? A 90-degree angled USB cable?

ExpeditedYou should check out the screen shot of Andrew's posts above. Here is the re-run:
“the cost of making this (the acrylic case) is entirely in the cost of CNC operation. A block of acrylic and a block of aluminum are not significantly different in terms of cost. So, when I list the aluminum version the price will be more or less similar.”
So, what Andrew said is that CNC operation on both materials costs the same and both materials cost the same. So, TEX acrylic and aluminum cases should cost the same and sell for "similar" pricing. But a $60 acrylic case and a $100 aluminum case isn't exactly the same. I think I did pass my math class back in my school days.
bassSo it's not exactly the same, but it is similar! The cost is very dependent on how long the CNC has to run for and aluminum is a much harder substance than acrylic. This model also has the feet as an added extra, which is another level of complexity thrown into the whole equation.
Those feet are pretty cool though, so it's probably worth the extra work.

AndrewLekashmanYes it is similar as it is a price that has both a dollar sign and numbers following it.
Other than that, no fucking way is $60 similar to $105, please don't try and pretend that it is, even if you are stupid enough to think it is, the rest of us are not.
Very poor form.

AndrewLekashmanWell, so which way you are going to spin in your next response? Now what you are saying is a total contradiction to what you said on the acrylic page. "A block of acrylic and a block of aluminum are not significantly different in terms of cost." Now you are saying aluminum costs more for CNC operation. So what is it?
When people can't keep their stories consistent, that means they are lying. I am simply to hold you and your company accountable to your words, which I haven't seen enough of it. If you keep doing this, I can assure members will flee and business will go bad. If that happens, all people remember of Massdrop is a nicely designed website providing group buy service running by bunch of amateurs.
Talking about accountability, removing the "talk" section from the top of the page is a sign of your company's accountability going down the drain, because you don't want people to dig up more dirt from the past. There used to be 3 tabs on top, now there are only two. People do notice.
Remember, people are not as stupid as you think.
