The king pro is a step above the E5. Bass isn't as accentuated and the king pro is more balanced, but bass quality and deepness is just as good or better. With EQ it is just fine on bass quantity for my bass preferences(add about 2-3 db versus the E5). Haven't heard the king due to reputation, but these don't share the supposed faults of the Kings which kept me away.
The king pro has superior detail and staging properties which really makes them sound superior to the e5 overall(keep in mind I love the E5). They create a very addictive holographic presentation. I get my hiby r6 soon, and I'm thinking that these will also scale very well, especially in terms of staging/imaging and when used with a balanced out/cable.
Also have the tfz tequila on the way which supposedly widens the soundstage, but I worry that those will lack definition and be kind of gimmicky... If you start"widening" the soundstage further from these, you're running the risk of sounding like the "stadium" setting on a home theater receiver...
Christian.NI haven't heard the gr07 but the post a ways above covers the difference between these and the it01, which I also have. I'd give the edge to these unless you're needing them for physical activity. Both are good but the staging/imaging and bass clarity are better on the king pro. Fit and comfort better on it01. Definitely in the same ballpark overall.
