Wanted to like these, but in the end they suffer from a major design flaw that pretty much renders them useless. They sounded great, but the cables already broke within 3 months of use. The plug juts out at an odd angle at the input, so the spot where the braided cable starts gets a lot of wear in your pocket and eventually snaps internally. $60 for a few months of decent sound. Curses.
Series 5 or Series 5s?
Non-detachable cable is a reason why I'm a bit hesitant. Supposedly 5s has an improved cable. I'm wondering if I'm better off with the Shure SE215
I'm using my SE215 since late 2014 and they work flawlessly. No cable wear, no sound problems. They were even washed once or twice and they still work. I think you'll be better of just buying SE215
