Just a data point. I purchased a polycarbonate Ridge with the elastic band 2 years and 2 months ago. It's been in my pocket with 12 cards pretty much every day of that time. It's the longest time I've had a wallet in play. The minimalism is perfect. It's held up great as I tend to be quite hard on things like this. The elastic is as tight as day 1 (has some mild pilling). Only now did I notice the beginnings of some alligatoring in 2 places, but it's still solid and in tact and has miles left on it. I think I might spring for a slightly fancier one the next time it comes up for a drop.
