Does the weight of the laptop on the hinge all day not break the hinge?

Hi jchannon1, as for extra/damaging force on the MacBook hinge: The force that the Roost puts onto the MacBook hinge is much less stress than the simple act of opening and closing the laptop screen. This opening/closing of the screen imparts a much larger force on the hinge due to the large "moment arm" created by applying the force at a distance of 10-13", where you open from front edge of the screen. In comparison, the Roost acts at the back edge of the screen, where this moment arm has length of <0.1". And we've not had a hinge-related issue reported to date.
