I've owned and used this mat for a couple years now and I love it! ....and NO, it's really not that loud! I stay warm enough underneath even at ~15* out, it packs down quite small, lightweight, comfortable, and more durable than you'd think! Blowing it up doesn't take much effort, but it does require about 1 min or so depending how lightheaded you want to feel afterwards especially at 10,000 ft, haha!

thefeevI own this pad too and have used it quite a bit. Nothing lighter out there. I didn't think it was loud until my 4 year old son slept on it - then I thought he was sleeping on a bag of potato chips.

thefeevIf you can spare 65g/2.3oz get this:
https://www.thermarest.com/mattresses/neoair-mini-pump
If that's too heavy, there's this: http://www.trailspace.com/gear/therm-a-rest/neoair-airtap-pump-kit/
Which weighs 1oz, and costs less...
I use a pump sack that came included with my Xtherm MAX purchase.. I haven't been able to locate a retail version of it though... let me go upstairs and weigh it.. ... ok my pump sack is 55g / 1.95oz. Lighter than the Therm-a-Rest retail pump sack. It works great btw -- keeps warm & moist air out of my sleeping pad.
