It looks like if you don't have keys on both ends, then a key could swivel 360 degs, is that right?

ooheadsooYep, there is no stop for the keys, but because of the special spring washers I use, they always keep tension on your keys, so you don't need to worry about your keys coming out if you don't want them to.
