A laser sensor. And it uses the shells of other mice. I guess you get what you pay for.

So is it Rouge or Rogue? And why does the majority of humans on earth seem to have dyslexia only when it comes to that word?

The A3050 and Pixart 3325 are definitely the low end of gaming sensors. The A3050 is used in the Logitech G300s - a better mouse for $10 less on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G300s-Optical-Ambidextrous-Gaming/dp/B00RH6R7C4/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1548795939&sr=1-2&keywords=G300S Agree with MiBe Below - The G100/203 series is the same price and better sensor (same approximate shape). If you spend a little extra ($39-$49 range), there are *tons* of much higher quality mice.

In the $30 category, I would recommend the cooler master MM530: https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-SGM-4007-KLLW1-MasterMouse-Ergonomic/dp/B0733W4WPH/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_3?hvadid=78546416099684&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvqmt=e&keywords=mm530+cooler+master&qid=1554480350&s=gateway&sr=8-3-fkmrnull PMW-3360 sensor and decent software/programmability. I've always been a fan of Logitech mice - I use them personally (The G502 for most things). For FPS mice I like the G203 or the G Pro - good sensor, good shape, light weight. Not many bad choices in general for the Logitech gaming mice. For higher priced I like Roccat mice and SteelSeries Mice:
  • Roccat Kone with owl eye sensor (Aimo or Pure)
  • SteelSeries 310 or 600 - the 310 is the less expensive option
In general, the shape and feel are the most important. After that, the sensor and durability. Logitech, SteelSeries, Roccat, Razer all use good sensors. So much so that you likely will not be able to tell the difference between any of them, or even slightly lower grade sensors if you like the shape and feel of a mouse.

A3050, PMW3325. Gaming? Probably 5 years ago. Technology has gone forward. We have better proposals.

They are both optical mice, it's just that technically, the correct term is optical laser. Not high end sensors here, the 3325 is passable, but not good enough for that price.
