Buy two pairs, then have the residents of the country you are visiting stick a set in their ears and fire up their smartphone, install the app, and Bluetooth pair, so that you can understand them. Maybe. Get the earbuds back, and then repeat with each new person you meet.

DigitalSilencerThat's clever, though probably not very hygienic especially during this pandemic. It seems to be a clever device but with limited use. I'll stick to pointing out to the items on the restaurant menu for now.
