Having made exceptional Swiss timepieces for the better part of two centuries, Tissot needs no introduction. If you haven’t been introduced to its watches, now might be the time Read More
I own the silver & black classic that's the first image on this and it has given me so many problems since I bought it. It randomly stops working, as if the battery died, and then if I bump it or reset it it will work again. I've sent it in to get services THREE TIMES and they still havent fixed it. I requested a new watch and they denied my request. So I just gave up. It's sitting on my shelf broken as of right now unusable. Will never buy another Tissot ever again.
I said in my last post I'd show pic of the Olive Green Dial (Ltd Color Run) Tissot PRS 516 with Powermatic 80 Movement when it came. $279 plus tax. It's a good casual watch with uncommon color. Putting a black Barton Tactical Fabric strap on it. The Olive Green NATO color looks good but makes case look bigger than it is. A lot of Swiss Automatic Bang for the $.
Just ordered PRS 516 Powermatic 80 with the Olive Green face, DLC case, Carbon Fiber bezel, exhibition case back, on Olive Green NATO strap for $279. Limited color release. Had to pay tax, but free shipping. I have 5 year old blue face Seastar 1000 (NON PENCIL HANDS!) with Powermatic 80 on original Jubilee Band and it's a strong movement. I have 2 other non Tissot pieces with same movement (both in house names, but based on PM 80) and they give a solid 75+ hours of continuous movement on a full charge. I'll post pic when new one arrives. Tissot makes some decent, everyday wear and "take a beating" Divers. There are a few of the dress watches with the Valjoux 7750 that can be had for a good deal. Just have to keep an eye out for them. This particular piece they're offering will be "just right" for some. To each their own. It is what it is!
Tissots are solid watches, and this is a pretty good price (I think. Haven't researched it) but they seem to only have two design threads: Plain, classic but kinda boring like this one, and way overdesigned gaudy chronos with multiple metal rings and distracting stuff on the dial.
I already have a quartz Tissot that looks a lot like this and serves as my rough n ready watch, and a Seiko Sarb033 when I want something nicer. So that part of my collection is all filled up.
JAoneLike many similar Tissots, this one has a almost classic design that's missing something (I don't know what) that keeps it from being really classic, like a vintage Omega.
Some proportion is just a tiny bit wrong.
