Hi everyone, Lots of comments here, including some amusing ones about the DNA collectors. This really is a nice pen and I want to give it a better chance of being successful so after talking with @Titaner we decided to extend the drop through the weekend! Thanks to all who have joined the drop so far. :)

Looks like this is a collector's item, especially for a DNA collector...

What an ice breaker. "Oh thanks for the compliment, I love that pen too. The titanium pen I handed you to sign those documents also contains tech to collect the DNA of ..... anything (with flesh) given the right circumstances? lol Pretty cool.

Any pen is a tactical pen if you're brave enough.

People are making fun of the DNA catcher, but this looks like a nice pen on it's own merit. Sleek and modern design, and made out of titanium, too.
The DNA catcher is a pretty standard feature on tactical pens. Either that or a hard, pointy glass breaking point. I prefer the glass breaker myself, as it seems like a more realistic and relevant tool in an life or death altercation.
But a tactical pen is really just a novelty idea, isn't it? Sure, the glass breaking point and DNA catcher are pretty painful, but a regular metal pen seems like it wouldn't be too far behind.
I think for most of us, a tactical pen is nothing more than a cool and interesting lifestyle item. I doubt anyone who purchases this pen would ever use it in a legit self defense situation.
That said, this one looks like a pretty attractive pen.

So, you are in a life or death situation; and you have to take the pen out of its pouch, unscrew the end, and scrape the assailant just to collect DNA to help authorities find your killer? I doubt not many people will have enough time to think to use this. And even without the pen, there will be plenty of DNA under your fingernail to get DNA off of if you struggled with the assailant.

andypak01I wonder if there's a "less-than-legal" use for the DNA collector, like those glass tubes at gas stations with a fake rose inside...They just happen to be useful as crack pipes as well. That isn't of course what the manufacturer built them for though...they just happen to be popular at gas stations in seedy neighborhoods. I'm sure you could "tactically" torture someone with the DNA collector, but of course that isn't the intended purpose...surely not.

wontonotnowI used to work at liquor store and market in Compton and Long Beach. Areas where mentioned in rap music. I assure you, those rose in a tube is just a disguise and only use they have is for smoking crack. I doubt they give them as gift to their baby mamas haha. I did get into intense situations where I got held up at gun point twice, knife fight once that almost took my left eye (got barely away at nick of time with cut across my eyebrow and sadly does not grow hair anymore), and few fights. It was intense since it was time during when Asians were on a green light to kill for gaining rep. I can say for certain, I would not bother with some pen like this when I am focused on surviving. If I get an opportunity to scrape for DNA with a pen, I would use that opportunity to take the gun away from the assailant, as supposed to scrape for DNA with the pen and get shot afterward.

So thanks for checking our pen out. It means a lot to us. Here is a close up of the screw cap that houses the DNA catcher. Also it takes a standard parker refill in the style found here: http://www.parkerpen.com/en-US/quinkflow-refill-for-ballpoint---black-medium-nib

The DNA catcher idea sounds crazy. Crazy Good they got me.
Looks like the DNA catcher will double as an excellent pocket shredder.
