Any benefit of the titanium one over the much cheaper SS version?

Mako321Just the material properties of Ti, I'm guessing. Lighter weight, much harder. The insert's doing all the work.
Speaking of insert, what material is that made of?
Kinda wish it came completely unmarked and unbranded on the outside of the case.

Mako321One possible advantage: it looks like the gasket is seated better.
I've owned the stainless steal version for 5 or 6 years now. It's a handy lighter, basically a Zippo you carry on your keychain, though a bit on the small side. However, mine is old enough now that the o-ring gasket is not sealing 100%. Without a good seal, the lighter fluid slowly leaks off. I think there is more wear than necessary on the gasket because of the the SS version is designed. Basically, you can cinch down until the gasket is pressed out of shape, and probably putting way more wear on the gasket than one should.
From the pictures of the titanium version, it appears that the gasket is now out of the way. If that's true, then this should be a better version.

lusernameThe o-ring has to be in contact in order to seal so the more the container is opened and closed, the faster it will wear out. O-rings also degrade with age and need to be replaced.
