Questions!
1. Any chance of a picture of Raw and Machined next to each other? 2. What grade of titanium is the TiPeN? 3. This does not include a refill, am I right? 4. Do I need some kind of adapter/spacer for Parker and Fisher refills? Anything included?

#2: Recently found out the Tube is Grade 2 and the end pieces and cap are Grade 5. I told them I wanted Grade 5 Tube, and they sold me Grade 2... It would be smarter for me if I made everything out of Grade 2 since it's softer, but lesson learned I guess. I will continue making what I can from Grade 5, sounds like they don't make Grade 5 Tubing in the size I need though, and I can't drill that deep in Grade 5, it would melt the drill and take an hour per pen. #3: It does not include a refill since they are so expensive and I can't buy them in bulk #4: I have a "kit" that I sell for $5 that will let you use most refills. It's basically a rubber tube you can custom cut for the back side of the refill, and some tiny o-rings to be used as a refill front spacer - Kit also comes with large o-rings that you can put on the outside of the TiPeN in the grooves if you want a "thicker grip"

Tactical_KeychainsWould be nice to have these $5 kits as an addon option here on Massdrop, for combined shipping. I'm guessing $5 from you directly does not include international shipping. :-)
The Machined finish looks awesome in pictures, but I worry about how it looks to the naked eye... I've never been a fan of glossy chrome silvery finishes, and tend to prefer a more matte and brushed feel. It's hard to tell from pictures which is more descriptive of Machined here. Maybe it's a glossy matte? :-D
edit: I guess it's called "satin finish"? Is the machined finish satin or shiny?

dag.odenhallI only have a limited supply is why I haven't put them on here. Shipping to you is about $7 if Int.
Raw - is Grey and has a matte finish (Dull) Machined - is Silver and a smooth finish (Shiny)
I have a YouTube video showing the process minus the cleaning afterwards.

Tactical_KeychainsIt sure does look shiny, but I guess I'm asking if it also looks chromy... Compare:

They're both "shiny" but the former is "satin" and the latter "chrome". I don't like chrome! :-) From pictures the machined TiPeN doesn't look chromy; I'd just like to make sure the pictures aren't tricking me. :-)

dag.odenhallHey dag, I have been carrying around the raw and gonzodized versions since my last comment about getting the Schmidt easyflow to fit these. The raw is NOT shiny...it looks like a dull grey, nice industrial look. The gonzo is a nice darker grey color with hints of blue and highlights of brassy gold. The first one I got was awesome!! The last one I got was a lot more blue but the turned indentations were purple!! What happened Brad? It's still super sweet and unique. I carry the first gonzo and the raw everyday in my pocket, the anodizing seems like it may get some neat wear on it, the raw looks the same as it did brand new. Hope this helps!

dag.odenhallIt's "satin" - Chrome finish would be hard to pull off on Titanium, lots of manual labor there (30min a pen)

Warlock983Just different batches of pens produce different results, that is 0ne reason I like to run in batches instead of individual anodized TiPeNs. The first massdrop batch was more gold than blue! Time from the lathe to the anodize is why the rings are purpleish. Also oil from your hands plays a large part in color, wipe it off with an alcohol pad and see the color change.

dag.odenhallThe machined finish is definitely more "satin" like, it is not chrome or super reflective. I like both the raw and machined, just a different look. Both look nice!!
