Reate does make a nicer quality knife. Still not as nice a many North American or Swedish knives, but nice. $450 nice? From a purely practical standpoint, I don't think so. It's hard to justify $450 for this when you can get the firmly superior Sebenza for less. From an aesthetic/collector standpoint? I dunno. Sure, I guess, if Begg is your thing. Personally, I've never liked his designs, to my eyes they all look one step away from the fantasy/weirdo/wannabe merc jobs that you can find for $6 at a flea market, being sold by some creepy guy... Too many weird blade curves, overly busy handles, etc, etc. For instance this knife looks to me about one blade hook away from a Star Trek Klingon movie replica... But hey, different strokes and all...
