In Tokaido, players move down the East Sea Road, which once stretched along the coast from Tokyo to Kyoto—but the game’s goal isn’t to reach the end first. Instead, the winner is the one who finishes the route with the most diverse objects and interesting experiences to share. Savor the journey, but remember to think strategically: You’ll have to get those objects (like lucky trinkets) and experiences (like hot springs and underground game rooms) before your opponents have the chance.
