From Outside to GQ, publications around the world are singing the praises of Topo Designs. And who can blame them? This Colorado-based company—founded in a Fort Collins basement—combines the built-to-last construction of outdoor gear with the style of a boutique Japanese brand. The aesthetic is one of simplicity: solid colors, geometric lines, austere design. And the company’s ethos echoes this aesthetic. Every product is made in the United States, and the flagship store, in Denver, is constructed from a repurposed shipping container.
