From Outside to GQ, publications around the world are singing the praises of Topo Designs. And who can blame them? This Colorado-based company—founded in a Fort Collins basement—combines the built-to-last construction of outdoor gear with the style of a boutique Japanese brand. The aesthetic is one of simplicity: solid colors, geometric lines, austere design. And the company’s ethos echoes this aesthetic. Every product is made in the United States, and the flagship store, in Denver, is constructed out of a repurposed shipping container.

The 24-inch Duffel features a super-tough 1000d Cordura exterior and a coated pack-cloth interior. It’s fitted with heavy-duty hardware, including seatbelt strap handles, two YKK zippers, and thick metal rings for attachment to the included seatbelt shoulder strap, which is adjustable and equipped with two metal clasps. Additional gear—shoes, water bottles—can be hooked to the natural leather lash tabs on either side of the bag. As this is the company’s largest duffel, it makes an ideal companion on long adventures. Still, at 2 feet long and 1 foot wide, it can be packed into an overhead compartment, making it equally suitable for weekend getaways.
