So...would there be a likely discernible difference listening to Spotify Premium from my current budget DAC (Dac Destroyer, 16-bit/48.1 khz unit?

I know I'm a bit late but figured I could share a little bit of advice :) Last I used Spotify Premium was about two years ago and I cancelled my subscription simply because there wasn't the variety I wanted in their library, and the audio quality was really sub par. Many tracks sounded just fine but I kept running into tracks that were just butchered. If you have a DAC capable of reproducing sounds true to what you are trying to recreate, then I wouldn't waste another cent on a passive component you're system (DAC, cable, isolation feet). The acoustic return is negligible and many times zilch. If the DAC really does sound bad then sure, upgrade, but I wouldn't let any specs above 44kHz/16 bit entice me to spend a cent more.
Here's a website that's saved me a lot of money! https://xiph.org/~xiphmont/demo/neil-young.html#toc_wd2bm
