Could somebody explain to me why you need a digital out from a DAC?
So you can connect it to other gear such as powered speakers or studio monitors.
If your reciever/dac doesn't have usb in.
I need to run two pairs of cans at once and it’s the only way I can connect my audiogd r2r11 with another dac/amp, as it has no analog inputs.
Because some people may have an older DAC they really like but does not support DSD. One can use this as an inexpensive DSD decoder to feed to the DAC.
I feed my D10 simultaneously to my HP amp (rca) and a home theatre receiver (toslink). Saves you the hassle of switching things back and forth and there's no splitter used that could potentially degrade quality.
