I can't seem to get anything out of the TOSLINK plug. Can anyone help me determine if I'm doing something wrong, or if it just isn't working on mine? I've got nothing connected to the D10 except the USB from the computer and the TOSLINK cable, which is connected to a small set of powered speakers that has a TOSLINK input. (I know that works; it will play when connected to the computer.) I see no illumination in the D10 at the TOSLINK port- that's atypical, in my experience. If I unplug the cab;e from the speakers, there's no illumination coming from the cable. The D10 isn't sending anything. On the front plate it says 384 PCM. Anything else I'm missing? D10 audio output works, BTW.

wemistStumbled on a fix. In Sonarworks True-Fi you can specify your output sample rate. Once I changed it to 44.1, I noticed the light came on in the TOSLINK port. And now no matter what I do now the D10 seems to remember the 44.1 setting. Strange it couldn't figure that out initially- where did the 384 PCM come from?

wemistOptical only supports 192 khz and 24 bit. The d10 btw is a optical out (if you want to go to powered speakers or something). USB will only play up to 192 khz and 24 bit if the driver is not installed. If the dac supports higher sample rates which the d10 does dsd 256 or 384 khz (24 or 32 bit) then you need to go onto the website and download their driver if you will be playing higher sample rate files. (They may also have firmware fixes as well). Example: Foobar + download wasapi -> playback output to wasapi and you may need to change the bit rate to something like 24 bit or something else in order to play.

Z0d1AcI'm on a Mac. Haven't seen any indication there are Mac drivers. Not sure it matters- I'm using Sonarworks Tru-Fi for all my listening and it only goes up to 96 khz. I probably won't need higher. Thanks!

Z0d1AcHow about while playing Spotify or Tidal where the concept of “files” is irrelevant?
