After using a headphone amp and DAC from my audio interface for a long time I decided to finally switch over to the Topping D50 and the Cavalli Tube Hybrid. I'm incredibly impressed by the difference it has made, even though the one I was using before wasn't half bad. I had the CTH first, so I was able to add this in (after using some low end DACs from my audio interface) and the difference was immediately night and day. The sound is significantly clearer in every way, and the bass is more pronounced. It's strangely consistent, now that I have this new setup I'm impressed by the bass in all of my headphones rather than being a little let down (I have DT-770 Pros, M50xs and AKG k701s). While I'll probably be interested in buying another one down the road, I can't imagine another one sounding too much better than this. As such it'll probably be the baseline I use to compare for years to come.
