Just got mine plugged it into my system. Right off the bat what stuck me is the warmth to this DAC. I'm coming from from a Moon by SimAudio DAC that I would consider reference. This is warm compared to that. I think the sound-stage is slightly larger than the Moon, but not as detailed. I think this is due to a more laid back presentation. Symbols seem slightly dulled or perhaps a little repressed on the Topping which I'd also contribute to this. Female vocals have more weight than sparkle. I haven't played around with the filters too much (I just cycled through and I didn't notice a night and day difference) so I'm just listening on filter mode 1. I also have this plugged into an LG power bank so it is technically using a linear power supply. I think what sounds better comes down to the song, the Moon edges out the Topping more often than not, but it's close.
Build wise WOW this impressed me it is like a solid polished brick of aluminum. Great weight to it and just feels premium. OLED display is nice, but joystick is a little flimsy.
For $200 this is a great DAC, and as a previous Modi Multibit owner this is the superior option in this price class.

Any "Moon by SimAudio DAC" will cost at least 1x times price of D50 :D.

It seems to be true -0.00 db if that's what you're asking. Compared to the Moon there's no loudness difference that I can tell.
