Just picked up a D70 everything worked right out of the box .After a period of time I noticed the lit display had disappeared .Read The manual played around with it can't seem to keep the display on after using the remote to select anything .All the functions seem to respond except auto and brighten up the screen any help would be appreciated thanks Kim
Finally got mine about a week ago, long story short finally got around to trying it out but I can't get it to turn on?? Am I doing something wrong? Is it DOA?
Sukinidachi. . . Are you kidding me, apparently there's a switch on the side where you can switch between 115v/230v and it was set to 230v. I am so relieved to now know its not DOA but so annoyed at how much I went through to try and figure this out only to read "Voltage setting on side panel" in the manual.
Finally....received mine yesterday...with the WRONG cable. Ordered US, got EU. Thankfully I'm a computer geek and have plenty of those spares around.
The box was damaged in transit as whoever packed this decided to only wrap the product box in the smallest of bubble wrap. I guess a cardboard box would have cost an extra $5.
So Aug 7 vs May 30, crumpled box due to crap packaging and EU cable instead of the ordered US. Not looking good.
Will update once I get a chance to set up and test.
I've written to Drop tech support a few times about them missing the ship dates (mine also was in May, which I believe has already been pushed back once previously), and this is their typical response:
"I've flagged this to my logistics team and we'll send out a new expected ship date to everyone as soon as we hear back from the vendor. Thank you for your patience."
Of course, I've yet to receive any update with a status. My last request was not yet answered.
What the heck Drop??? It is now 7-30-20, long past when we were all supposed to get this. Do the right thing and help us out please.
i see. thanks. i don't want a refund though, i want the unit. did you get a tracking number? i never got one, and i don't think mine was every shipped.
