This Topping D70 DAC paired with the 789 THX AAA via balanced interconnects, and you'll have one of the best equipment setups in headphone hifi audio.
AKM is a great sounding chip, with far less distortion in the midrange than the ESS chips. And seeing that this model has 2 AK4497 DAC chips (AKM's flagship DAC chip). Another great feature of this DAC is the remote control and preamp function. I have the DX3 Pro, and I can tell you that having the remote is amazing in terms of changing inputs and volume adjustment.

LuckyLuke575Yeah would love hooking them up with my active speakers! At the moment I have to go behind them to manually adjust the volume lol, not a solution :p

LuckyLuke575Fully agree, I only think DX3 is much better value, even as a DAC. And it has a passable headphone amp when in a bind.
I don't think average person can hear difference DX3-D70.. :)

verifonixTotally agree. The DX3 Pro is the most versatile DAC/AMP out there; great build and sound quality, input options, and output power. And the screen is awesome!
I don't feel the need to own any other equipment since I bought mine just over a month ago :)
