What does x2 of the power output mean?
That they are using two mono amps to create the desired power output. Sometimes they sum what both channels are pushing, other times they represent them individually.
so its 2000watts being pushed out at 32 ohms?
Here, no. They are summing up the output of both channels, so 1 W @ 32 ohms. This is why I prefer Vrms specs as it tells a clearer picture (to me) anyhow: 5.65 Vrms @ 32 ohms and 6.12 Vrms @ 300 ohms. So, this is a decently powered unit at this price point with the features being offered. I've been thinking of picking up one as a work desktop setup and think it would really excel at that job.
thx for the help. I am not sure if your remember me but I have posted alot of questions/topics on massdrop and you are always one of those that reply. BTW for my IEM that costed less then 200$ and were easy to drive with handphones I had went with the Fiio F9 PRO out of the rest of the IEMs you suggested. Its superb. Also I am looking for a desktop dac and amp. Was thinking about the monolith by monoprice desktop dac/amp but their user interface and firmware is lacking behind. Might wait to see if they make changes. If not then the massdrop thx linear amp + some other DAC
