I've been reading the comments. If I understand this correctly members are saying the DX7 Pro will produce noise when paired with a low impedance headphones. I have a Sony 1Am2, would this classify as low impedance? I can hear background noise when it is just plugged in. Would this be the noise they are referring to?

ConroeNah. Low impedance would simply change the frequency response for better or worse. What you're experiencing is one of two things. The first and more likely, is groundloops perhaps and are creating a raise in the noise floor. The other possibility is simply the sensitivity rating is a bit high, though your headphones arent so bad which leads me to believe its the former issue. But there I am almost certainly wrong seeing as how your headphones are offered with a balanced configuration using 4.4mm balanced connection which should get rid of things like groundloop noise for the most part. Very odd issue honestly to hear if you are indeed running balanced.

JJayJJIt does it on both, 6.5mm SE and 4.4mm balanced connection. On low gain it isn't too bad but if I switch to high gain then the noise is obvious. The music will definitely drown it even on low volume so not a dealbreaker however it is there and for the sake of comparison I don't hear it or almost imperceptible when using OPPO PM3.

ConroeOh High Gain, well that makes sense, but hearing on Low Gain, that's a bit surprising. I suppose perhaps with the Oppo being something like 10 ohms higher, it possibly does away with it. I really can't say tbh as to what the reason could be beyond the obvious. At least we know it isn't a groudloop issue thankfully. I imagine though, on SE it should be less since voltage output gets cut in half, as should noise.
