Just wanted to say that this looks to be a true, dual mono, balanced dac and amp. The posting doesn't outline specifically what's in it but here...
https://www.head-fi.org/threads/topping-dx7-dac-and-balanced-headphone-amplifier.840214/
There's a little breakdown:
Dual ES9018K2M (DAC chips) Dual TPA6120A2 (Head amp chips)
I don't know what flavor that Sabre chip has, but I think they tend to be detailed and analytical, and neutral, which bass-addicts say is a bit cold? I would love someone with experience to correct me.

rpm604This dac chip is detailed, neutral. Good for highs and mids. I'm looking for something like this, however, I have enough of the analytical. I wish this had burr-brown or Wolfsen. Something warmer, with more bass. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Does anyone know if the Akm chips warmer? I realize that theres a lot more to the sound of a unit than just the dac chip. Any suggestions on a dac or dac/amp with lots of options and reasonably priced, would be appreciated. Thanks

ElsidYes I've heard the same regarding dac processing. If you want something warmer, you'll need a work around, or something else. Tubes are fun for that reason. Warmth gets a bad rep when you start digging for info online (head-fi, etc) but for everyday use, it may be what most people end up wanting. Not all of us are switchboard operators.
