It would be really nice if Topping would include the remote. Without a remote this unit is about useless to me.

I heard from a source in China that they are designing a new remote for it and it's just not ready yet, but will be available to purchase soon. Weird that the unit it's self would be ready before the remote, but that's the story that I heard.

Many people use this unit right next to their computer for a desktop setup. A remote is not needed.

It does bring a remote. Least mine came with one. Pretty darn useful in a non-desktop usage scenario!

The big "volume" knbe on the front is actually a multi-function controller. You use it to do things.

You can use a Logitech Harmony remote. They recently added it to their database.

May be early shippement got the DX7 remote. Current DX7s manual stated the remote is optional and this drop made no tmention of the remote. From the manual the two looks the same but Topping's web site mentioned the new remtoe is delayed due to CNC issue. May be they are going to made the new remote with metal case to look highend.

If the remote that I got for my DX7 is the old one, then maybe they are redesigning it. It currently has (presumably due to not being magnetic) an aluminum construction. However, to remove the battery once it dies you would have to unscrew the whole thing apart which seems inconvenient.

I just got the DX7s. The remote I got (have to pay extra) is exactely like yours and it is the weakest part of the product. I would much prefer up and down keys than the rather stupid and circle design. If I knew how bad it is, I would have passed it.
