I couldn't understand why a lot more people are interested in Alex Cavalli's products here at massdrop than this one?
Because Cavalli designed products have a reputation for good sound.
And, sadly...a reputation for being unreliable. I think I saw on Head-Fi a while ago someone was refunded the full price of their Liquid Carbon 2 days before Cavalli went out of business - the reason was that the amp had failed a number of times...and other people had problems too.
I can't speak to the LDX's reliability, but MD's 1 year warranty doesn't inspire confidence (compared to Schiit offering a 5 year warranty and then adding 2 new years to your warranty when you have them install and upgrade. Not to advocate for Schiit here though, just comparing.)
That's incredibly misleading as a vast majority of Schiit products do not carry a 5-year warranty unless it's their more expensive offerings.
LCDX would compare to a Jotunheim most closely, which carries a 5 year warranty, which is what I was referring to (hence the mention of upgrades), though I should have made that clear.
