Can this device be used with an Android TV box sending the music to the Topping then the Topping connected to my home music system via analog??
If your Android TV box has SPDIF output (probably optical if at all) then yes you can connect it to the DX7s directly. If the box doen't have a SPDIF output at least your TV probably does, you could connect the Android TV box to your TV via HDMI and then connect the TV to the DX7s via optical cable. And yes the DX7s should be able to connect to your home music system with its analog outputs which can be set to fixed or variable. There is an optional remote available for the DX7s which would allow you to use it for volume control.
Yep, I have an optical out on the Android TV box. Although my original thought was whether I could connect USB from Android TV box to the D7. Apparently you need the UAPP app to be able to do that and get to use the full capability of a DAC
I had no idea that USB was even an option with an Android TV device. Good to know.
Assuming Android TV does what Android does on mobile devices it will be resampled before being output. Select apps (like UAPP) bypass this internal re-encoding to pass an unadulterated signal to downstream gear.
