Received two spacebars today, and I am not impressed. Put a light gray one on my Realforce, and I find the sandpaper-like texture to be rather off-putting. I'll give it a try, but I doubt it will end up staying on. I was looking forward to replacing the spacebar on my black HHKB, but I think a little shine is more tolerable than a mismatched and inferior texture. There are also some rough tooling marks that make the spacebars look a little like they were carved out of soap in some prison cell, but it's a minor concern compared to the texture. Total waste of money for me. Oh, well.

mcoops82I thought that was the case, but I didn't do an A/B comparison so I wasn't sure. I just put the stock spacebar back on my 87U and it definitely sits much lower than the PBT one. I will not be using either of the two I bought.

mcoops82Mine sits noticeably higher on my leopold fc660c than stock. I assumed this was because these bars are more of an OEM profile? Not sure. Should they be the same?

Malone1011I just re-mounted the PBT spacebar on my 87U, this time with more force, and it appeared to sit the same as the stock ABS one. It took an inordinate amount of pressure to remove it after it had been mounted, but fortunately I was able to remove it without damaging the stabilizers. I'm not sure I will mount it again to give it a more thorough workout, unless I can figure out a way to remove it safely. Maybe by filing it down or using some kind of grease?

miminashiDid you ever find a solution to the issue? I just received two PBT spacebars from here, and they also sit too high. It's unusable, and I will not press so hard and risk damaging the keyboard. Did you try to remove some material?
